Remember !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! a short while back about letting his friends and people he kind of sort of knew who were posing as his life long friends drive his 360? Remember when he also said people who wouldn't let others drive their cars were grumpy assholes who should "do us all a favor and jump into the nearest radioactive volcano?" *

*( Doug Demuro does not wish anyone death by radioactive volcano. Except maybe those from Idaho, I'm not totally sure )

This came across one of the forums I frequent visit. If the story to this is true, the guy who owns this Z06 let someone drive his car after it rained, the driver (like a dumbass) pinned the throttle in 3rd gear, lost control, and (most likely) totaled the car for sure.

So long story short I was down in Souther California for FFF and that Friday night it had rained alil, someone one else was driving my car with me in it as he laid into the gas in 3rd car pitched sidways hit the center divide with the passanger front then passanger back, bounced off and hit my cousins truck, luckly we were able to cruise to the side of the freeway. My whole weekend was F**ked.

Way to many people out there simply can not handle a car that actually has some power to it. C6 vettes are known to take your head off if you don't know how to control them (remember the thanksgiving C5 vs C6 corvette race/crash a few years back?) and obviously whoever was driving this car fucked up big time.

So this folks, is why I wouldn't let "anyone" just drive my car, and I don't blame others who are apprehensive about doing the same thing to. It only takes a brief window of time to watch all your hard work and cash turn into a pile of scrap.

Dear god, that must be crushing for the owner, and even worse for the driver who just ruined his friends prized possession.

Let your friend drive your car, they said.

It'll be fun, they said.

This is all Doug's fault.

The driver obviously didn't want to die in a radioactive volcano so he let his dumb friend drive his car. I bet that radioactive volcano sounds pretty sweet right about now.

Darn you, Demuro. Darn you to heck.

the radioactive volcano is looking like a cheaper option than a replacement Z06

If that were my C6Z, somebody would die.

eh, my insurance would cover it and I'd make the driver pay the excess.

It's not like it's a special one off car that can never be replaced.

the driver isn't legally liable to pay for anything. Unless he's that honorable of a person, you'll either be chasing him down in court or he'll be getting away with it. Either way its a lose/lose

Any proven debt is legally recoverable in my country. I don't even need to get a lawyer for claims less than $10,000 in my state.

Additionally, my insurance covers pretty much anyone who drives my car (so long as they're not a P-plater, because turbo laws), they'd only have to pay the $650 excess and any towing costs.

Sure, having the car destroyed is a lose, but I trust my friends enough that they wouldn't endanger it in the first place, and if they did then my insurance would cover it and I wouldn't be out of pocket.

In fairness, I never would EVER hand over the keys to a 500-plus horsepower car in the middle of a rainstorm. However I get the feeling the kind of person who spells "a little" as "alil" might be a bit different from me.

but would you agree that people from idaho should jump into a radioactive volcano?

I'm asking the tough questions here for the people of oppo

I once had a set of those barely legal Goodyear semi slicks on mine. Ran them for a couple years, before I got to move my car out of my parents' house. By the end of their run, they'd be sliding all over morning dew hahahaha.... Then I crashed my car and it ceased being fun.

I dont trust the opinion of anyone who allows their Z06 to be driven after a rain.
Nor anyone who owns a Z06 and says "alil"
